The last full week of April is here, bringing with it another busy week of local sports. Fort Lewis College’s track and field team is headed to Golden for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships, with high school track and field, lacrosse, baseball, tennis and soccer also in action. Here are all the local sports for the upcoming week:
Fort Lewis College track and field:
This Friday, the Skyhawks are heading to the Colorado School of Mines in Golden for the RMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The 15 schools of the RMAC will be competing in events starting at 9 a.m. on Friday and continuing until 3:35 p.m. on Sunday.
Sophomore sprinter Zach Gaumont looks to earn another conference crown to go with his first-place finish in the 60 meters at the RMAC indoor championships, while junior distance runner Hannah Hartwell tries to continue the momentum from her third-place finish in the 3,000 at indoors.
Fort Lewis College softball:
FLC vs. Regis University on Friday at noon and 2 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Records: Coming into their last series before the RMAC tournament, the Skyhawks look to continue the momentum from their 15-7 win last Friday to finish their series against Black Hills State (they lost the other three games of the series). FLC is 10-34 overall and 9-30 in the RMAC. Regis comes into the series having lost two games in a row. The Rangers sit at 17-30 overall and 16-22 in the RMAC.
