Drivers along North Main might have noticed the old Mama’s Boy location at 2659 Main Ave. has been torn down. The Italian restaurant has been closed for over a year, though it remains open at its Hermosa location. Property owner Greg Anesi said that plans for the now-vacant land next to Walgreen’s remain undetermined, though he is considering several proposals. “We’ll find the right thing,” he said in a phone interview. He declined to provide details on the proposals, including whether any of them involved food. Anesi said the building, which had housed the restaurant since the ‘80s but had previously been a church, was more than 70 years old and “functionally obsolete,” he said. He didn’t give a time line for proceeding on new construction.
