The 32nd Street pedestrian bridge was assembled and installed Tuesday just north of the Emerson-Parks Bridge (32nd Street) in north Durango. The steel bridge arrived in three parts and was assembled before being lifted into place by two cranes. The bridge is 170 feet long and weighs 83,000 pounds. It will help provide a seamless connection for the Animas River Trail, in which pedestrians and bicyclists never need to cross a road while using the 8-plus mile trail.
