Photos: Water drops along the Animas River

New mural is underway at Santa Rita Water Reclamation Facility
Durango artists Cindy Atchison, left, and Mariah Kaminsky work on a new mural on the backside of the Santa Rita Water Reclamation Facility along the Animas River Trail. Nine artists were selected to paint five water drops each, filling the inside of them with something that has to do with Durango. The city of Durango funded “The Walls Project” with money leftover from landscaping at the facility when it was built. Sherwin-Williams donated paint for the project, which should be completed by May 30. The only portion of the bright-color base paint that will show will be inside the water drops.
