If it’s comedy you’re hankering for this weekend, look no further than Stand Up for Local First, a comedy show, according to Local First, that’s dedicated to supporting our area’s local businesses and creative economy.
The show will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Durango Arts Center, 802 East Second Ave. Happy hour starts at 6 featuring live music by Alex Graf and Friends. The show begins at 7 and includes an all-local cast: The master of ceremonies, three judges, musicians, comedians and improv artists are all local. The jokes will have local references, and the audience will have a chance to vote for “best of” comedy categories.
Tickets cost $35 for single tickets and $150 for a table of two.

“Kindred: New work from Jenn Rawling, Miki Harder and Louisa Palmer,” the latest show at Studio & Gallery, will close Saturday, but before it does, be sure to check out an Artist Talk at 2 p.m. Saturday featuring the three artists. It all happens at the gallery, 1027 Main Ave.
“’Kindred’ explores and celebrates our threads, interconnectedness and kin,” according to Studio &. “Beyond human relationships, ‘Kindred’ examines the bonds and attachments that drive us to love deeply and defend what is dear. ‘Kin-Dred’ juxtaposes an impending doom which leaves us worried for the people, animals, plants and the environments that we care for. ‘Kindred’ nurtures seeds of inspiration, contemplation and action.”
