U.S. Highway 160/550 to be restriped from Double Tree Hotel to high bridge

The Colorado Department of Transportation will restripe pavement markings on U.S. Highway 160/550.

A 2½-mile stretch of highway will be treated, from the DoubleTree Hotel to the high bridge over the Animas River. The project will replace and enhance highway striping and markings to improve safety for drivers.

Restriping operations will start Sunday night and continue through mid-October.

The work, which is weather dependent, will take place from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Friday. Drivers will experience single-lane closures and lane shifts through the duration of the project. Lane closures will be directed by flaggers. Traffic fines will be doubled in the work zone.
