I am a resident of CD3 in Montrose. I identify as DEIA. I am a mom, social worker, disabled, and a member of the Indivisible Montrose group.
I am requesting that you hold an in-person town hall in Grand Junction, open to any of your constituents in your district, during your next District Work Period, March 15-23.
I was disappointed you did not attend the February 22 Town Hall organized by four local Indivisible groups in the Grand Junction area. The event was created for all concerned citizens in CD3 regardless of political affiliation. As one of the organizers, I was sincerely hoping to meet, hear from you, and maybe work with you.
You voted to advance the Republican budget bill that would significantly reduce or eliminate programs that your constituents rely on. Namely, federal funding from the Department of Education and federal programs, including Medicaid and SNAP, that enabled me to obtain my Masters in Social Work degree 10 years ago.
This degree allows me to be of service to my CD3 neighbors. I serve my community, as I was taught to do in my Sunday School class, loving others as God has loved me.
Coloradoans are facing challenging and uncertain times and your constituents are eager to share their concerns with you in person as they are seeking understanding and reassurance from you, as their designated representative in Congress.
