75 years ago: Beatrice Martin and Russell Dixon were married in Gallup, New Mexico, the week before Christmas. They returned to Aztec after a trip, “which took them through southern New Mexico.”
50 years ago: The production of winter wheat for 1968 was forecast at 40,807,000 bushels, which was 8 percent more than the 1967 crop and 37 percent higher than the five-year average.
25 years ago: A snowplow driver reported to the Durango Police Department that the Caboose Motel was pushing all the snow in its parking lot out into the street, which blocked a lane of traffic in the 3300 block of Main Avenue.
