Mercy welcomes new physician Andrew Carter

Mercy Regional Medical Center has welcomed fellowship-trained, board-certified interventional cardiologist Dr. Andrew Carter to Mercy Cardiology Associates, 1 Mercado St., Suite 130.

Carter specializes in coronary artery disease, acute myocardial infarction, chronic angina, congestive heart failure, cardiogenic shock, structural heart disease and valvular heart disease. He is experienced in many procedures, including radial catheterization, diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, percutaneous coronary interventions, rotational atherectomy and percutaneous hemodynamic support.

Carter earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry and biology from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, and earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and his fellowship in interventional cardiology at The Johns Hopkins University Hospital at Baltimore, Maryland.
