Durango’s San Juan Angler fly fishing shop will host a free Fly Fishing 101 class at from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 22 at Pine River Library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive, Bayfield.
The fly shop is on a mission to introduce as many people as possible of any age and gender to the sport of fly fishing. Learn the basics of setting up a fly rod, beginner casting skills and entomology (bugs).
The San Juan Angler’s guides will provide all the gear, equipment and tackle needed for the class, but those who want to practice with their own rod should bring it along.
Preregistration is required. Stop by the library or call 884-2222, ext. 1, to register for the class.
