President Zelensky refused to foolishly sign away half his country’s mineral wealth without out a written commitment for continuing support from the U.S. He recognizes Donald Trump for what he is, a liar who praises dictators and wishes to be one himself.
When Trump and Vance realized Zelensky would not sign they attacked him. He can be proud for standing his ground against that shameful bullying. And we should all be embarrassed by the actions of our president and vice president.
For those of you who don’t pay attention to facts, the amount of aid provided to Ukraine is roughly half what our president claims. At the recent televised Cabinet meeting, Trump claimed we left 77,000 vehicles behind in Afghanistan. The actual number is fewer than 1,000, and they were disabled.
I can’t help but wonder, is he really that ignorant, or does he have so little respect for his supporters that he thinks they won’t realize he’s lying? Folks say “that’s just Trump being Trump.” But when major policy decisions are made based on falsehoods, that’s a problem.
Please think about all this when it’s time for the midterm elections, that is if we’re allowed to vote.
