Funding for the Durango Transit system should be really easy. See you have all these ugly McMansions that were built without adequate taxation or land use planning. They can now be punished and taxed for trashing our landscape.
Paying $2 for a trip plus more if you don’t have a pass is hard, but it’s better for our overtaxed infrastructure and air quality. Adding a transit tax to high-income earners could solve the problem. It would also be off limits to City Council and county commisioners.
