‘Somebody needs to stop this seizure’

The Uravan Belt within the Dolores Corridor is home to as much as 21% of America’s uranium deposits along with as much as 80% of our vanadium production. America is home to just 4% of worldwide uranium deposits. Uranium is obviously used for fuel in nuclear power plants and in nuclear weapons.

Scott Braden, who is a major proponent of declaring the Dolores Corridor a “monument,” claimed at a hearing in front of Mesa County Commissioners on May 14, that by designating the corridor as a monument, that “nothing would change ... everything will stay the same.” In his next breath, Mr. Braden stated that the Dolores Corridor “ ... cannot withstand the status quo.” Well, which is it?

I will guarantee you that if designated as a “monument” the area will eventually be off limits to a host of traditional activities.

One of the several goals of many American socialists is to eliminate traditional sources of electricity, which is the life’s blood of capitalism. They also despise our military. Denying access to the uranium in the Uravan belt obviously limits our ability to fuel nuclear power plants and to maintain our nuclear weapons stockpile. Mission accomplished!

The Dolores Monument designation is a land grab, a water grab, an energy and weapons grab and a grazing rights grab. Somebody needs to stop this seizure.
