When a new home is built in our sunny Southwest locale, the homeowners, architects and builders need to choose the fuel source for the home. One option is a finite resource, costs the owner every month for the life of the home and also adds CO2 to the atmosphere every month for the life of the home.
Increasing CO2 in the atmosphere is accelerating climate change and threatens the future lives of those same homeowners’ children and grandchildren, as well as all other life on our planet.
A second option as a fuel source for a new home is a limitless resource, has no monthly cost, and adds no CO2 to the atmosphere.
It is mind-boggling to me that the first option is chosen far more often than the second. It not only makes me question the intelligence of our species, it also makes me question our actual love for our children and grandchildren.
