The election is over. The results were definitive. It’s time for The Durango Herald and the editorial staff to move on with an eye to the future, unburdened by events of the past.
Today, we saw President Joe Biden graciously welcome President-elect Donald Trump to the White House. The meeting has been a long-standing tradition as the parties realize the election is over; unkind words of the parties, a hallmark of elections, relegated to the past with a positive eye toward the possibilities the future holds. In the same positive spirit evidenced in today’s historic meeting, take this opportunity to refrain from partisan editorial cartoons, editorial bickering and continued refusal to move on from the past. The future is a blank slate.
